Edwin Allen 4x100m class 2 girls again proved they are the best on the island. The quartet of Serena Cole, Tina Clayton, Brandy Hall and Tia Clayton, again put together a stunning display to win at Gibson Relays on Saturday (29).

When the dust settled, the time on the clock showed 43.73; the fastest time ever ran by a high school team on Jamaica soil. This same quartet ran 43.80, the first sub-44 locally, to win at Central Champs.
The Gibson McCook Relays record for the event was 44.75, set in 2019 by Kevona DavisEdwin Allen team.

Holmwood was some way back in 45.18 while St. Jago finished third in 45.78.

In Class 1, Davis helped Edwin Allen to win in 44.70 ahead of St. Jago 45.09 and Holmwood 45.38.

St. Jago won the lower classes 4x100m finals.
They topped Class 3 in 46.81 ahead of Edwin Allen 46.91 and Hydel 47.17.
In Class 4, St. Jago came out on top in 47.28 ahead of Edwin Allen 47.97 and Vere 48.96.

On the boys’ side, Kingston College (KC) edged out Calabar – 40.44 to 40.46. Jamaica College finished third in 40.70.

KC also won Class 2 in 41.05 ahead of St. Elizabeth 41.51 and JC 41.61.

JC topped Class 3 in 43.51 ahead of Calabar 44.01 and Excelsior 45.26.

In Class 4, Calabar prevailed in 45.47 ahead of KC 45.48 and STETHS 46.14

Racers won the men’s 4x100m in 38.59 ahead of Speed Unit 39.64 and GC Foster College 39.82.

The women’s 4x100m went to Sprintec in 43.47. The quartet of Sashalee Forbes, Natasha Morrison, Anastasia Le-Roy and Ronda Whyte beat GC Foster College 44.46 and UTech 44.78.

Primary boys U10, St. Richards won in 55.00 ahead of Spanish Town 55.07.

U12 boys 4x100m went to Harbour View in 51.65, a new meet record, to beat St. Richards 54.12.

  1. Dee Dee, maybe I’ll try again another time. Thanks, that is encouraging. I was able to use Watchathletics for the TV but they skipped some, missing the Women’s 4×400 that I really wanted to see.
