Kevona Davis of Edwin Allen broke her second record in two days at the Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships.
On Friday’s fourth day, Davis ran 11.35 to ease the Class 2 girls’ 100m mark of 11.40, set two years ago by Kimone Shaw of St. Jago. She ran 22.92 on Thursday to lower the 200m record of 23.13, set in 2002 by Anneisha McLaughlin.
The final is set for at 8:08pm.
A highly competitive Class 1 boys’ 100m final is expected for 8:38pm.
Calabar High’s Tyreke Wilson, who beat Kingston College’s (KC) Jhevaughn Matherson, 10.39 to 10.41 in semi-final 2, is the fastest going into the final.
Michali Everett of Jamaica College (JC), winner of semi-final 1, is the second fastest with 10.44.
Semi-final 3 winner Ryiem Robertson of JC ran 10.45 to beat Michael Stephens, also of Calabar, 10.46secs.
Sachin Dennis of STETHS is the fastest Class 2 boy with 10.55 while Adrian Kerr of KC, 11.21, leads the Class 3 boys’ finalists.
Kasheika Cameron of Edwin Allen is the fastest Class 1 girl from the semi-finals with 11.60. Tia Clayton of Edwin Allen, 11.66, leads St. Jago’s Brianna Lyston, 11.81, going into the Class 3 final.
