EUGENE, Ore. – With a final day of practice in the new-look Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., in the books on Tuesday, Alabama track and field is ready for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, which get underway on the University of Oregon campus Wednesday (9 June).

The men and the women alternate over the four-day meet, with the men opening things up on Wednesday and the women rolling on Thursday. The men crown a champion on Friday and the women on Saturday.
Head Coach Dan Waters Said
“Our attitude coming in is just to do what we’ve done all year, which is compete really well and really hard. Every time it has mattered, we’ve come to the line and done a great job. We want to carry that into NCAAs and this tremendous stage we’re on. We want to do the same thing we did at SECs and the same thing we did at regionals. We’ve set ourselves up to be the most competitive team in the country and if we carry that into this week, we’ll be happy with the results.”
Alabama’s Schedule (all times central)
- The Crimson Tide open Wednesday’s events with four different finals and four different semifinals
- Bobby Colantonio Jr. and Kieran McKeage in the finals of the hammer throw (4:30 p.m.)
- Ryan Lipe in the finals of the pole vault (7:30 p.m.)
- Isaac Odugbesan and Chago Basso in the finals of the shot put (9:10 p.m.)
- Vincent Kiprop in the 10,000 meters (9:38 p.m.)
- Eliud Kipsang runs the semifinals of the 1,500 meters (7:16 p.m.)
- Robert Dunning goes in the 110-meter hurdles semifinals (8:02 p.m.)
- Champion Allison competing in the 400 meters semifinals (8:30 p.m.)
- The first day closes with Alabama running the 4×400-meter relay semifinals (10:18 p.m.)
Crimson Tide Honor Roll
- Alabama has already garnered several awards during the outdoor season, including places on The Bowerman watch list as well as several conference and regional honours
- Tamara Clark and Mercy Chelangat both maintained their spots on the women’s watch list for The Bowerman, while Robert Dunning is once again on the men’s list
- Tamara Clark was named the SEC Women’s Runner of the Year, while Amaris Tyynismaa was voted the SEC Women’s Newcomer Runner of the Year and Eliud Kipsang was recognized as the SEC Male Freshman Runner of the Year
- The USTFCCCA announced its regional honours, with Tamara Clark and Robert Dunning sweeping the men’s and women’s South Region Runner of the Year honours
- Head coach Dan Waters was voted the South Region Men’s Head Coach of the Year and Blaine Wiley was named the South Region Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year
