Jamaica’s rising star Christopher Taylor has called time on his 2019 season.
Two weeks ago, Taylor, who missed Jamaica Trials with injuries, ran 45.62, his fastest time this season at the Flanders Cup meeting in Belgium.
Taylor was second in the 400m at Champs and pulled out of the 200m and relay finals.
“Time to get some rest,” Taylor, who was unable to complete all his races at Champs 2019.
“The end of a successful season for me. I did not run a lot this year, but the time off to recover from my injury allowed me to get stronger, stay humble and focus on my dreams,” said the former Calabar student.
Shortly after Champs, Taylor joined the Rana Reider-conditioned camp in Florida.
“I am happy for the support from everyone and grateful to my team for all the work in getting me here. I honestly cannot wait to start training for the 2020 season.
“Look out for more, I am coming back stronger and faster,” he concluded.
