American sprinter Christian Coleman has been cleared to run at this month’s Doha 2019 World Championships. The World Championships starts on September 27 and ends on October 6.

Coleman, the US 100m champion, faced possible sanction for ‘whereabouts failures’ during a 12-month period.

However, according to an AP report, World Anti-Doping Agency’s interpretation of the rule backdated his first failure to April 1, 2018, instead of the date it occurred, June 6, 2018. His final failure was April 26, 2019.

It was behind this the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency dropped the case against the men’s 100m favourite.

“In this case, we applied the rules to Mr Coleman in the manner that USADA understands should be applied to any other international-level athlete,” USADA CEO Travis Tygart was quoted as saying.

“We must approach every case with the primary goal of delivering fairness to athletes under the rules and providing transparency and consistency in order to build their trust and support for the anti-doping system.”

  1. Jorge Flash Vazquez this guy mark is one of those guys who get offended and shoots up the school ??? man said bolt is a dope head bolt been running mad times from 16 bro the food different in the Caribbean we don’t eat that burger King taco bell and micky Ds

  2. Brianna Rollins got suspended for a year for 3 “whereabouts failures”, and she’s an American. So being American has nothing to do with it.

  3. Mark Rode Jamaica either! And yet many Jamaican athletes have tested positive in Jamaica you dumb idiot! Educate yourself on the matter at hand before you write your bullshit cause you look stupid as hell! ??‍♂️

  4. Mark Rode Even though is kinda obvious everyone at this level is probably on something… Bolt was the most tested athlete during his time, he never missed a test and was willing to do any test available, even DNA through hair samples! Just to let you know how dumb your comment is! ??‍♂️

  5. Mark Rode Bolt never missed three drugs test. American athletes are the biggest dopers of all, not only in Track and Field, that’s the only way they know how to win.

  6. Jenny Carruthers the wording is rubbish to be honest had it not said the infringement date should be the quarter date and instead leave it as the actual date the infraction committed like any normal sensible person should do, he would have been in big trouble, but due to the fact the idiots stated it been the quarter date technically it’s 14 month for the 3 missed tests so they can’t penalised him for their own stupidity

  7. Llewsac N J Remlap, so basically it was 2 missed tests in a 12 month calendar period, not 3. This is the first time I have seen the reason explained. It would seem the wording needs some adjustment.

  8. He did miss 3 test in 12 months, however due to the way rules is worded he got away on a technicality, the rules states that the recorded date should be the start of the quarter irrespective of the said date and the quarter was 1st of April even though the infraction was actually in June. Well those idiots who worded that rule is the one to be blamed not the athlete
