Christania Williams continued her impressive indoor season with a personal best in the women’s 60m dash at Sunday’s (7 Feb) American Track League in Arkansas, USA.

However, Williams again played second fiddle to the more experienced Nigerian Blessing Okagbare, who ran 7.10 for victory.

Williams’ time of 7.14, which equalled her Glasgow 2018 mark, showed growth.

American Teahna Daniels ran a season-best 7.17 for third in the event final.

In the preliminary round, Williams ran 7.18 to Okagbare’s 7.17

At the first meet in this series, two weeks ago, Okagbare ran 7.17 to beat Williams, 7.18.

Ronnie Baker ran 6.53 to beat his American teammate and world leader Trayvon Bromell, 6.58 in the men’s 60m dash.

Former Hydel star athlete Shiann Salmon produced a personal best effort to stay close to American Shamier Little. In the end, Salmon’s best of 52.85 placed her second behind Little, 51.33, also a personal best.

Salmon beat her previous best of 53.74 done in Texas this same time last year. Hurdler Little career-best mark before today was 51.74.

Kendall Baisden of the United States finished third in 53.43 and Great Britain’s Lina Nielsen, 53.85 ended fourth in the two-lap event.

In the men’s long jump, Jamaican Damar Forbes finished fourth with 7.70m. Bahamian LaQuan Nairn took the second spot with 8.16m. American Marquis Dendy won the event with 8.21m.

Tristan James of Dominica leapt 7.56 for fifth in the event.
