Christania Williams leaves MVP track club

Olympic Games 100m finalist Christania Williams is the latest athlete to depart MVP Track Club. According to sources, Williams, who finished 8th in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games final, left to join Florida-based Tumbleweed Track Club.

She helped Jamaica to silver in the women’s 4x100m at the Rio 2016 Games. The 25-year-old Williams also has a World Championships 4x100m bronze medal, won in London 2017.

“Oh Well she’s happy,” was Williams’ lastest Facebook post with a video of her jumping in front of a falls.

On December 31, she posted a quote from Steve Jobs, which part read: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.”

The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games double silver medallist has personal best times of 10.96 in the 100m and 23.48 over the 200m.

Jamaica’s Olympic 110m hurdles champion Omar McLeod and rising start Christopher Taylor are members of the same training group in Florida. Britany Anderson, the newly crowned World U20 100m hurdles record holder, and Tyquendo Tracey, who is also a former MVP athlete, are also at the club.

Megan Tapper also left MVP late last year.

  1. She seems to stay with injuries which makes me think we have not seen her best yet. All I know is that she has a start like none other.
