Central Hurdles & Relays is back. The meet will be staged at the newly laid GC Foster College track on Saturday, January 23 starting from 8:30 am.
The meet was cancelled for the past two years due to the unavailability of the track.
The meet will feature hurdles for all classes, clubs and institutions. The relay events down to be contested are 4x100m, 4x400m and 4x800m.
Other events on track will be the 400m, 200m, 60m and 1500m for select groups while in addition there will be three field events – Long Jump, Triple Jump and High Jump for high schools only.
Jerry Holness, chairman of the organizing committee, said, "we are very happy to bring back Central Hurdles and Relays.”
“We are looking forward to the return of the high school teams, clubs and institutions as well as unattached individuals who competed in the past.”
Holness is also inviting “all sports loving and non sports loving persons to journey to GC Foster College and enjoy the high level of competition which will be on offer throughout the day.”
The meet has already attracted sponsorship from Custom Marble and Designs, Creative Sounds, Toyota Jamaica and MILO.
