South African Olympic and World gold medalist Caster Semenya participation at the World Championships in Doha looks to be highly unlikely.

The Swiss Supreme Court reversed a ruling which suspended a regulation imposed by the IAAF regarding testosterone levels, pending an appeal from Semenya.

Semenya is appealing a ruling by the CAS which supports a new IAAF regulation that athletes with differences in sexual development must take the medication in order to reduce their testosterone levels.

In a statement, Semenya said: “I am very disappointed to be kept from defending my hard-earned title, but this will not deter me from continuing my fight for the human rights of all of the female athletes concerned.”

Theguardian.com informed about IAAF statement: “We understand the Swiss federal tribunal will be issuing its full decision on this order [on Wednesday] and the IAAF will comment once the tribunal makes its reasoning public.”
