Veronica Campbell-Brown was a winner at Saturday’s (3 Apr) Colonial Relays hosted by The College of William & Mary, a public research university in Williamsburg, Virginia.

The Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games champion, Campbell-Brown, topped the half-lap event at this meet in 23.73 seconds.

Unlike Friday’s opening day when athletes benefited from tailwind as strong as +6.3m/s, Campbell-Brown had to contend with -1.1m/s wind on Saturday.

Theo Chambers (William and Mary) was the men’s 200m winner in 21.65. Jaron Meyer (Buffalo) won heat two for second overall in 21.88.

Amanda Stead (Stony Brook) finished second run 24.40 and Amaya Johnson (William and Mary), the 100m champion, third in 24.71.

Kamryn Ross (Richmond) won the women’s 100m hurdles in 14.69 (+3.3m/s wind). Heat one winner Davina Lane (George Mason) finished second overall in 14.94 (-4.0m/s wind).

The men’s 110m hurdles went to Daniel Layton (William and Mary) in 14.95 ahead of Marcus Wilson (VCU) 15.05).

Amaya Johnson (William and Mary) ran 12.06 to take the women’s 100m ahead of Ariana Ruffin (VMI), despite a strong tailwind of +4.4m/s.

The men’s 100m dash was won by Daniel Fox (Christopher Newport) ion 10.81 ahead of Sundiata Kamau (George Mason), 10.87, despite a powerful +6.3m/s wind.
