Holloway Undefeated in 60m Hurdles for Almost 9 Years

GAINESVILLE, USA – Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Grant Holloway and Sha’Carri Richardson were the star performers at Saturday’s (17 April) Tom Jones Memorial.

Puerto-Rican Camacho-Quinn went to equal seventh on the all-time world list for 100m hurdles with a 12.32 national record, improving her best from 12.40.

British sisters Tiffany Porter and Cindy Sember both crossed the line in 12.62 for second and third.

World champion Steven Gardiner took the 400m with 44.71.

Justin Gatlin won a high-class 100m in 9.98 ahead of Andre De Grasse 9.99, Kenny Bednarek 10.03 PB, Noah Lyles 10.08 and Isiah Young 10.18.

JoVaughn Martin, whose previous personal best was 10.40, ran faster in the college division. He equalled the world lead of 9.94.

American Fred Kerley won the 200m in 20.24, equalled PB, to beat Jereem Richards of Trinidad and Tobago 20.30 and Canadian Aaron Brown 20.43.
Erriyon Knighton, who is under 18, won his race in 20.39.

Sha’Carri Richardson won the women’s in 22.11, her 2nd best time ever, over Lynna Irby 22.57 and Blessing Okagbare 22.66.

In the 100m, Javianne Oliver clocked 11.12 (+2.2m/s wind) to beat Tianna Bartoletta, 11.16.
World champion Grant Holloway clocked a world lead 13.07 (+1.3m/s) to beat Trey Cunningham 13.28 PB.

Jessica Beard won the 400 m in 51.00 ahead of Kaylin Whitney 51.04.

Olympic champion Christian Taylor opened in the triple jump with 16.19m. Norway’s Thomas Mardal won the hammer with a PB of 76.18m. Jazmin Sawyers beat Tianna Bartoletta (6.57m to 6.46m) in the women’s long jump.

Other university winners included Lance Lang (20.39/200m PB, +0.2 over Matt Boling 20.43), Elija Godwin (45.34/400m PB), Jayla Kirkland (11.13/100m, +1.4, PB) and Abby Steiner (22.79/200m, +0.4).

Adidas team (Strother, Hall, Knighton and Holloway) clocked 3:00.75 in the 4x400m over Tumbleweed TC (Taylor, De Grasse, Oduduru, Givans) 3:03.41.
