Barbadian Mario Burke won the senior boys 100m at the 44th Carifta Games on Saturday at the Silver Jubilee Stadium in Basseterre, St. Kitts.

Burke, who ran 10.37 in the prelims, returned with a fast 10.21 to beat Jamaicans Michael O’Hara (10.33) and Raheem Chambers (10.44).

In the Under-18 boys final, Bahamas’ Javan Martin brought joy to his country in 10.41 seconds. He beat Trinidad & Tobago’s Akanni Hislop 10.47 and Jamaica’s Tyreke Wilson 10.57.

 Jamaicans Shellece Clark 11.50 and Natalliah Whyte 11.56 were the female champions.
