Track and Field News waited on the outcome of a positive test for potential 100m record-setter Briana Williams.
With the news that she was cleared of any wrongdoing in the case, they were able to conduct the annual voting, and she ended up as the convincing overall No. 1 for the title Women’s High School Athlete of the Year.
Second is combined eventer Anna Hall and third pole vaulter Chloe Cunliffe.
Track and Field News wrote: “She received 14 of 19 votes for the top spots— the other votes for No. 1 went to Anna Hall (4) and Jasmine Moore (1).”
The website noted, “although it must be noted that she was downgraded on more than one ballot, not only because of the doping shadow but also because she didn’t run for her school (which isn’t a disqualifying factor per T&FN’s longstanding protocol).”
