Usain Bolt has lost one of his nine Olympic Gamers gold medals.

Bolt, who won three gold medals – 100m, 200m and 4x100m in Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016, has lost the first mile medal due to Nesta Carter positive test.

Carter, who was apart of Jamaica’s 4x100m successful team in Beijing, tested positive for a banned prohibited substance methylhexaneamine.

According to the IOC, Carter is “disqualified from the men’s 4x100m relay event in which he participated upon the occasion of the Olympic Games Beijing 2008”

The release also added that “the medal, the medallist pin and the diploma obtained in the men’s 4x100m relay event withdrawn and is ordered to return same.”

Carter, Michael Frater, Bolt and Asafa Powell made up the Jamaican team.

Trinidad & Tobago have now been awarded the 2008 relay gold, with Japan upgraded to silver and Brazil given bronze.

The below is the IOC release:

Nesta CARTER, 31, of Jamaica, competing in the men’s 4x100m relay event (round 1 and final) in which he and his teammates ranked 1st and for which they were awarded the gold medal, has been disqualified from the Olympic Games Beijing 2008.
