The Blue Marlin Track and Field Classic, dubbed “Last Chance Meet” has adjusted its time and will now start at 12noon.

Most of the athletes are using the meet to get the qualifying mark for Doha 2019 World Championships for September 6 cut off date.

The Thomas A Robinson Stadium is the venue for the meet.

The change in time is due to the threat of Hurricane Dorian to the island of Bahamas. As of 8:30 pm EDT Friday, the National Hurricane Center said the storm’s maximum sustained winds were at 130 mph, which is a Category 4 storm.

Dorian poses a severe threat to lives and property from the northern Bahamas, Florida and perhaps areas farther north in the southern United States in the coming days.

However, while the storm is not expected to hit Nassau directly, the island is forecasted for rain falls on the weekend.

Several notable Caribbean athletes such as Javon Francis, Semoy Hackett, Bralin Talpin, Natasha Morrison, Reyare Thomas and Kyle Greaux are down to compete.
