Yohan Blake said he is in the shape to win his first Olympic Games title.
Blake, who struggled with injuries over the past two seasons, when asked if he is in the shape to win, replied “definitely, definitely, more than in the shape.”
“I am feeling real good through training, coach said I am looking wonderful, so I am just going with that, as God is on my side,” said Blake, the 2011 World 100m champion.
Jamaica’s Blake opened his campaign on Saturday morning, during the heats of the men’s 100m. He won heat 6 in 10.11 seconds ahead of Jamaican-born Turkish athlete, Jak Ali Harvey, 10.14.
“The first round was pretty easy. I took control of the race from 60 metres and took it home…I didn’t have to hustle, so it was good,” added Blake, who was second to Bolt in both London 2012 sprints.
Hope he does better at the 200m but I doubt
