Blake 3rd in 400m, Hyde, Clayton win 200m at SW Isaac Henry Invitational

Former world 100m champion Yohan Blake finished third in the men’s 400m at Saturday’s SW Isaac Henry Invitational at the National Stadium in Kingston.

Blake, who won the Deagu 2011 world 100m title, crossed the line in 47.59 seconds.
Terry Thomas, running unattached, won the event in 46.63, ahead of Devaughn Ellington finished second in 47.56.

Jodean Williams of Pelican TC ran 54.89 in the women’s 400m. Samantha James was second in 55.22 and Yanique McNeal of Pelican TC, 5th in 57.81.

Several 200m records

Jaheel Hyde topped the men’s 200m in 21.03 ahead of Oblique Seville, 21.06. Michael Ohara finished 5th in 21.69

World 400m hurdles bronze medallist, Rushell Clayton, won the women’s 200m in 24.12. Roneisha McGregor, 24.19, Candice McLeod, 24.78 were second and third respectively.

St. Jago’s duo of Bridgette Campbell 24.56 and Brianna Lyston 24.83 were the winners in classes 1 and 2 respectively.

Rajay Morris of Clarendon College ran 21.58 to win the boys’ 200m.

Kai Chang of UWI threw a record 56.76m to win the men’s discus over Basil Bingham of Pelican TC 55.25.

St. Jago girls dominated the sprint hurdles.
Camoy Binger ran a record 10.75 to win the Class 4 girls’ 70m hurdles. Sashell Reid clocked 13.82 to win the Class 2 girls’ 100m hurdles, and Rosealee Cooper, 13.95 to top the Class 1 girls’ 100m hurdles.

Jerome Campbell of Calabar ran 14.04 to win the Class 1 boys’ 110m hurdles. Kingston College’s (KC) Nicardo Johnson 13.78 won the Class 3 boys’ 100m hurdles.

St. Catherine High top the girls’ 4x400m in 3:53.33 to beat The Queens School 3:55.51.
St. James won the boys’ section in 3:38.07 ahead of BB Coke 3:38.13

Wolmer’s won the first-ever mixed 4x400m relay contested in Jamaica, 3:37.98 to beat Excelsior 3:38.61.
