Christopher Taylor named in Jamaica's team for IAAF World U20 Championships

Nickel Ashmeade ran his second race in three years, and Christopher Taylor opened his season, both at Saturday’s Showdown in Otown, Florida.

Ashmeade, a member of Jamaica’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games 4x100m gold medalist winning team, ran 10.33 in heats of the men’s 100m.

Taylor, the other Jamaican in the event, ran 10.44 in the heats and 10.42 in the final.

Senoy-Jay Givens, also of Jamaica, ran 10.25 in the heats and 10.21 in the final.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Keston Bledmon ran 10.46 on the day.

Kenny Bednarek won the final in 10.14 seconds.
