Jamaica’s discus record holder Allison Randall, on Tuesday 8 April 2014, was given a 2-year suspension by the Jamaica Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel.
The panel consisted of chairman and former director of public prosecutions, Kent Pantry, Olympian Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn and Professor Archibald McDonald, made the disclosure to Randall, who was watching the process via Skype.
Pantry said "the panel is of the view, that in relations, to article 10.4 of the rules, you were unable to establish how the specified substance entered your body or came into her body"
Pantry said it was under those circumstances the panel is of the view that she would not be able to benefit from the provision of rule 10.4.
"So the sanction imposed by the panel is 2 years ineligibility," said Pantry said while noting the two years started from the date of the positive test.
Randall, 25, who represented Jamaica at the 2012 Olympic Games in the discus, tested positive for a banned diuretic at the 2013 Jamaica National Championships
Randall, in her testimony, suggested the source of the substance to be the supplement 'Animal Pak', an approach that was squarely rejected by JADCO’s lawyer Lackston Robinson.
