AUSTIN, Texas – With the conclusion of conference championships this weekend, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has announced its Post-Regular Season Bowerman Watch List. Texas thrower Ryan Crouser is still among the favorites to win the award.

Crouser was named to the latest watch list as he ranks No. 1 in the NCAA and No. 5 in the world currently in the shot put. This weekend he successfully defending both his Big 12 Conference shot put and discus titles. He posted a season-best mark in the discus at 58.92 meters (193-4) and now ranks No. 18 in the NCAA in that event.

During indoor season, Crouser set a Big 12 Championship record in the shot put and finished second at the NCAA Championships.

The USTFCCCA announced its men’s preseason watch list for the most prestigious award in collegiate track and field in early January and have updated it monthly along with an additional post-indoor season list. The updated Post-Regular Season Watch List had two changes from the May list with the addition of 2014 Bowerman winner Deon Lendore of Texas A&M and Georgia decathlete Maicel Uibo.

Crouser, back-to-back NCAA outdoor champion in the shot put, is joined by two other Big 12 Conference student-athletes on the watch list for the men this month. Baylor sprinter Trayvon Bromell remains on the list along with 400 meter hurdler Michael Stigler of Kansas. Texas Tech high jumper JaCorian Duffield is listed among those also receiving votes. The SEC has four on the list and the Pac-12 has two athletes  on the list while one represents the MAC.

The USTFCCCA will announce its women’s Post-Regular Season Watch List on Thursday. Texas sprinter Courtney Okolo has been on the list all season. Okolo was one of three finalists for the 2014 Bowerman after a dominating sophomore year in the 400 meters that saw her break the collegiate record outdoors.
