WARSZAWA, Poland – Usain Bolt, in his first individual race in Europe this year, clocked a world indoor record over 100m at the 5th Lotto Kamila Skolimowska Memorial.

Bolt ran 9.98 seconds before 20,000 spectators under closed roof. It was his 42nd legal sub 10.

"Im getting there, one more race in Zurich this season,” said Bolt after the race.

“It was great to compete here at the soccer stadium with only a straight. Next year will be more serious with World Championships," said Bolt.

Jamaican Sheldon Mitchell 10.33 and US Trell Kimmons 10.34 were second and third respectively in the event.

Meanwhile, the best result of the meet came from Pawel Fajdek with huge national record and world lead in hammer 83.48m, the best result since 2008. His series had all six throws over 80 meters:  80.19- 83.48-83.37-82.16-81.57-81.46.

"For me this is not logical, I’m shocked. I did not train at all after Zurich and now this," said Fajdek.

Eurowinner Krisztian Pars 78.56m finished second.

Also Anita Wlodarczyk twice improved her meet record to 77.66m in women hammer and beat World record holder Betty Heidler with 76.26m.

Another top mark was recorded in men’s 110 m hurdles as Cuban Orlando Ortega clocked his career second fastest 13.03 (-0.5) to beat World leader Pascal Martinot-Lagarde 13.06. Former World record holder Dayron Robles 13.39 (season best 13.38 in heats) and current world record holder Aries Merritt 13.47 were third and fourth respectively.

In shot put, Reese Hoffa with 20.81m prevailed over local star Tomasz Majewski 20.25m. In discus, Robert Harting with 67.40m beat Piotr Malachowski 65.30m and Robert Urbanek 65.20m.

US World indoor champion Nia Ali dominated the hurdles in 12.77 (+0.3) over Alina Talay of Belarus 12.90. Two Germans wins by Melanie Bauschke in long jump 6.51m (+0.2) and Verena Sailer in the 100m in 11.26 (-0.5) ahead of overseas sprinters Tiffany Townsend 11.30, Carina Horn 11.34 and Tianna Bartoletta 11.37.
