Aleen BaileyWorld and Olympic sprint relay gold medallist, Aleen Bailey, is among the newest members of South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame.
Bailey, who ran third legs on Jamaica's teams at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and 2009 Berlin World Championships, was named in a class of 8 inductees announced Thursday by the South Carolina Letterman's Association.
Bailey, who attended the school from 1999-2003, was a nine-time All-American... national champion in the 100-meters and 200-meters as well as a member of the champion 4x100m relay team... helped the team to the 2002 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field team championship...
2-time Southeastern Conference golf champion Kristy McPherson and Furman soccer coach Doug Allison were also inducted. Also named were late track and field coach Weems Baskin, volleyball's Ashley Edlund-Heidtke, golf's Fred Wadsworth and football's Andrew Provence and John Saunders.
The group will be honored at South Carolina's football game with Furman on Sept. 18.
