Shericka WilliamsWorld and Olympic 400m silver medalist, Shericka Williams, despite some ways off her 2010 goal, is describing her season so far as "fairly good."
In an interview with trackalerts.com, Williams said the aim this season, which is without a Major Championship, is to run a personal best.
"My aim is to have a injury free season and to try and run as fast and I can. Hopefully I can get a PB if that’s possible," she said.
Williams, who won silver behind Christine Ohuruogu of Great Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and repeated at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin behind American Sanya Richards, has a personal best of 49.32 seconds. Her season best is 50.04, which was done for second place in Lausanne.
But of the season so far, she explained: "The first part of the season was rough, maybe because it was early, but after our National Champs I began to do better so I think its progressing well so far,” she said. She, however, "Hopes to do better as the season comes to an end"
The season takes a break for the European Championships and she remains at the MVP training base in Lignano, Italy.
"So far, I have less races but I will try my best. I think I have only 3 Samsung Diamond League races left," she added.
Those races could be in Stockholm, London and Zürich.
