Christopher Taylor looked very good in the opening round of the Class 2 boys 400m here at Champs 2015.

Taylor, who ran a personal best 45.69 at the Carifta Games Trials three weeks ago, raced down to backstretch before strolling across the lone in 47.25.

Taylor’s time was the fastest of the day.

Anthony Carpenter, also of Calabar, won heat 2 in 48.34, to beat the second fastest.

Tyreke Smith of KC (49.63), Romel Plummer of Munro (49.78), Sheldon Smith of Munro (49.81), Achebe Thompson of Excelsior (49.82) and Jauavney James of STETHS (49.83) are also into the next round.
