World 200m champion Dafne Schippers opened her season with a sub-11 seconds clocking at Friday’s (14 April) Bryan Clay Invitational (See video below).

Schippers, winner of the 2015 world 200m title in Moscow, raced to 10.95 seconds to set a 2017 world lead and the Azusa Pacific stadium record.

American Tianna Bartoletta, who like Schippers were representing Tumbleweed, was second in 11.08 and Destiny Smith-Barnett, third in 11.21.

In another heat, Desiree Henry, also representing Tumbleweed, ran 11.09 for third overall.
