BEIJING, China – Jamaica’s Hansel Parchment finished second to upset winner Sergey Shubenkov of Russia in the 110 metres hurdles at the World Championships in Beijing, China on Friday.

Parchment ran his usual race, by getting a slow start and finishing strongly but failed to catch Shubenkov who ran a national record of 12.98 seconds. Parchment did 13.03 and defending champion Aries Merritt of the United States finishing third in 13.04.

Jamaica’s other competitor Omar McLeod was sixth in 13.18.
