Anneisha Mclaughlin-Whilby has decided to take a break from track and field this season. McLaughlin, who recently added Whilby to her name, was quick to make it clear that she will be back on track soon.

"I've been in track and field from I was nine and I haven't had a break, so I'm taking this season for myself," she was quoted as saying.

Anneisha Mclaughlin-Whilby, the most decorated Jamaican junior athlete ever, having won more than 20 medals for her country, said she still have more in store.

"I'm still not satisfied as yet, so, therefore, I'm not ready to hang up my spikes," she said while adding "I know I have a lot more in me and I'm going out there to give it a few more years."

Anneisha Mclaughlin-Whilby, who won gold for Jamaica in the 200m at the 2003 World Youth Championships in Canada, will return to training in October.

Rio in Brazil will host the 2016 Olympic Games.
