FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Having added his name to the all-time collegiate performance list with a Jamaican record run, Kemoy Campbell has been named the SEC Runner of the Week for his showing last weekend at the Payton Jordan Invitational.

Campbell becomes the fourth Razorback to earn weekly SEC track and field accolades in 2015, and the third to do so during the outdoor season.

Campbell clocked 13:20.39, a national and NCAA-leading time, at the Payton Jordan Invitational to become the No. 10 all-time performer in collegiate history. With his performance, he beat his previous national record of 13 minutes 32.82 seconds done at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California in 2013. He also moved from eighth place to second on Arkansas’ all-time list in the event.

Campbell is the NCAA leader by more than 10 seconds and the SEC leader by 31 seconds. He posted a 12-second personal best as the top collegian in the Stanford field.

Campbell's time, however, was only good enough for 7th. Six runners went under 13:20 Mexican Juan Luis Barrios 13:15.71 over Garrett Heath 13:16.31, Diego Estrada 13:17.30, Briton Tom Farrell 13:17.87, Riley Masters 13:17.97 and Matt Hughes 13:19.56.

The Manchester, Jamaica, native now owns top-30 national times at 1,500, 5,000 and 10,000 meters with top-10 marks in the longer-distance events. Earlier this season, Campbell clocked a 10K time of 28:45.84 at the Stanford Invitational. This season marks his first outdoor campaign after redshirting in 2014.
