EL PASCO, Texas, USA – Jamaican Chrisann Gordon is happy after running her first 200m race in four years.

Gordon, a former student/athlete at Holmwood Technical, opened her outdoor season over the metric furlong with a personal best 23.28 at the UTEP Invitational Meet on Saturday. "This is my first 200m since 2011" she explained.

The 400m/800m specialist was quick to relate to her fans. "I am very happy with the win and a personal best," said the South Plains College student/athlete. More attuned to the quarter mile, she said things are progressing well.

The World Championships in Beijing, China this summer is every big athlete’s aim.

"I think I am right where I want to be at this time of the season, I haven't run any 400m (races) yet, so I am looking forward to have a great season once I am injury free, " Gordon told TrackAlerts.Com, the Caribbean’s number 1 track and field news source.

She represented Jamaica in the women's 4x800m at the 2014 World Relays in Nassau, Bahamas.
